CZ 75 TS CZECHMATE PARROT 9MM AT AIRTACTICAL ARMORY
The CZ 75 TS Czechmate is a 20+1 or 26+1 high-capacity, low-bore 9 mm Luger. It’s a hammer-fired semi-automatic that uses the ultra-popular competition CZ 75 TS frame, so named because of its 1975 origin.
Befitting its premium price, Czechmate comes fully loaded with all the goodies you’d expect to compete in International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) Limited or Open division competitions. Everything on this semi-automatic is in the right places, but almost every one of them is different from their counterparts generally seen elsewhere.
This is a very serious competition pistol. That’s reflected in the upscale prices and impressive feature list. The 9 mm size permits a much higher capacity than with some other calibers. The double-stack magazine can hold 20 or 26 rounds inside the steel frame’s grip.
The gun is designed for International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) Limited or Open division competitions, and it comes out of the box set up for the latter. Thus it has a four-port compensator to thrust the muzzle down during firing and C-MORE 6-MOA red dot optical Slide Ride sight that mates directly and solidly to the slide without any additional mounting hardware. For IPSC Limited competitions, there is a front sight adapter to use in lieu of the compensator and an included rear sight as well.
The slide has an ambidextrous slide racker in the back. It also has six slide stops: two are with slide lock and four stops are without. The beavertail is optimized for a high grip. Above it is a skeleton competition hammer. The gun has an ambidextrous thumb safety in the back and a safety stop on the hammer too.
The trigger guard has a vertical front face with subtle horizontal serrations, a bulging belly, and ends in a deep undercut by the grip. Inside, the competition single-action only trigger is long and straight with a bottom kick out that echoes the trigger guard forward face. The gun has aluminum grips and the mag well is also aluminum.
The cold hammer-forged barrel is 5.23” long and the gun’s width is 2.44”. The gun’s total length is double that at 10.47”. The total weight is a stable 45.9 to 52.7 ounces depending on the configuration. The gun comes with a trio of 20-round double-stack magazines and a big stick 26-round double-stack mag. The gun comes with a rugged and much-appreciated CZ 75 ts hard case.
CZ-USA is based in Kansas City, Kansas, and has been importing foreign-made guns into the USA since 1998. However, the parent company Ceská Zbrojovka (meaning “Czech Armory” in the Czech language) started operations in 1937. It’s too bad no one gives out awards for gun names because Czechmate could be a winner. In any case, with its feature-rich content, high-capacity magazines, and readiness for IPSC competitions, this semi-automatic is just that.
